The current and future status of agricultural financing and its impact on agricultural production in Qena Governorate

Abstract

Agricultural financing is considered one of the main factors for advancing agricultural production, raising the efficiency of using agricultural resources, and improving the level of farmers and rural communities. The importance of agricultural financing for farmers is due to the nature of agricultural production and its specific characteristics. The research problem lies in the fact that developing countries in general, including Egypt, and workers in the agricultural sector in particular suffer from poverty and a low standard of living, which may eventually lead to weak investments in the agricultural sector in both parts (vegetable and animal), and then increase the food gap and the rise in commodity prices. And food services whose effects may be reflected on economic growth rates, increased poverty and a decrease in the standard of living, and therefore the advancement of the financing process for this important sector is increasing in importance day by day as it is one of the main production factors that lead to a definite increase in agricultural production and thus leads to an increase in national agricultural income and improvement per capita income and higher standard of living of the agricultural population. The study aims to study the current and future situation of the role and size of agricultural financing, and the evolution of the volume of agricultural (plant) loans and its impact on agricultural development in Qena Governorate. It has been shown through the results of the research and it has been shown through the study and the results of the development of agricultural loans (in the field of plant production) granted by the Bank for Development and Agricultural Credit in Qena Governorate that there is an annual increase in these values estimated at (1359.27, 10111.33, 3549.74, 2648.23, 4744.13, (1613.44) thousand pounds in (Abuchit, Dashna, Waqf, Qena, Qus, and Naqada) centers, respectively.And by calculating the "Spearman Ranks and Degrees" coefficient between the ranks of the different centers under study, according to the total loans granted by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt to plant production farmers in the centers of Qena Governorate during the two periods (2005/2007-2018/2020), it was found that it was estimated at about 0.125, which indicates that the changes in The total loans granted for plant production in most of the governorate centers during the second period were somewhat of the same relative importance as their counterparts during the first period under study. agricultural centers in Qena governorate.
