Abstract

This study primarily aimed to identify the level of benefit derived by rural respondents from rural health unit services, to explore the relationship between the level of benefit and various study variables, and finally, to identify the obstacles faced by these health units in performing their role and propose solutions from the beneficiaries' perspective. To achieve its objectives, a systematic random sample of 260 respondents was selected from the beneficiaries of rural health unit services, distributed across two study villages in proportion to the number of rural families in each village, specifically 120 respondents from Qalhana village and 140 from Al-Azab village. The study employed multiple statistical methods to analyze data and test hypotheses, including frequencies, percentages, chi-square, and Cramer's V coefficient. The key findings included a significant relationship between the benefit derived from rural health unit services and variables such as marital status, occupation, cultural openness, leadership status, community belonging, and ambition at a probability level of 0.05. The main obstacles identified included a lack of sufficient financial resources, inadequate medical equipment, and the absence of ambulances in health units. Key proposals included renovating health units, providing ambulances, and recruiting specialized doctors for health units.
