The Role of Electronic Information Sources in Disseminating Innovative Agricultural Recommendations in Qena Governorate

Abstract

   This research aimed to study the role of electronic information sources in disseminating updated agricultural recommendations in Qena Governorate, through: Determining the degree to which electronic information sources implement their activities in disseminating updated agricultural recommendations, determining the level of respondents benefiting from them in disseminating updated agricultural recommendations. The study was conducted on a similar sample of 130 respondents from the 152 workers in the guidance system, representing approximately 85.6% of the total workers. The data was collected using a questionnaire to achieve the objectives of the study and collected by personal interview during the months of July and August 2021 AD. Appropriate statistical methods were used to process the research data from frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and chi-square test, and the SPSS computer program was used. The most important results were as follows: Approximately a third of the respondents fall into the category of high implementation of electronic information sources for their activities in the field of dissemination of agricultural innovations by 33.1% of the total respondents, while half of the respondents fall into the category of medium implementation 50.8% and low execution 16.2%. Less than half of the respondents fall into the category of medium benefit from the activities of electronic information sources in the field of publishing agricultural innovations, at a rate of 48.5% of the total respondents, while the category of respondents with low benefit falls under less than a third of the respondents by 30%. And the high benefit is more than one-fifth of the respondents, accounting for 21.5%. The degree to which electronic information sources implement their activities in disseminating the new agricultural recommendations, which have a significant relationship with both experience in the field of extension work, and satisfaction with the use of electronic means of communication. The level of respondents’ benefit from the activities of electronic information sources in publishing the new agricultural recommendations, which have a significant relationship with the proficiency in using electronic information sources in the dissemination of the new agricultural recommendations.
